ABOUT ROLE
Mobile (Android/iOS) Test Automation Engineer develops, troubleshoots, tests and debugs software components and test automation projects of moderate scope and complexity. The role shares responsibility for planning and implementation with team members and assumes increasing responsibility as a solid technical contributor in a group; applies an understanding of how test automation projects get developed, utilized, and maintained, how projects are planned and executed, and how systems engineering is done. The role may work on technical solutions in a particular area of specialty. The incumbent's output will be peer-reviewed, and the engineer will be a capable peer reviewer for other team member’s work.Test planning, documentation, and manual testing activities are also required in case of need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Under peer review, designs, documents, develops and executes reusable and maintainable automated scripts and functional and system level testing to verify the functionality of software changes mainly on Android and iOS platforms
  • Establishes and maintains thorough and accurate documentation of all work; may assist with technical specification documentation and review
  • Analyzes testing results; identifies, isolates, interprets, and reports defects
  • Conducts smaller development projects independently; performs specific portions of broader projects managed by supervisor
  • Within scope of assignments, installs, configures and maintains the hardware and software test environment
  • Participates in feature planning and represents quality aspect with strong quality mindset
  • Creates test case documentation for the ongoing projects
  • Manually executes test runs in case of need
  • Makes recommendations for improvement of applications
REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages (Java is preferred)
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Unix shell, Javascript, Python, Ruby)
  • Knowledge and experience with OOAD principles and methodologies (e.g., UML) and OS concepts
  • Ability to reason about product quality while producing software requirements for features, requirements for system qualities (including performance and security), product design, software design, estimates, algorithms, source code, test plans, unit test harnesses, software and system performance data, software product information and bug fixes
  • Ability to contribute constructively to the review of recent project activity and working practices
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and in Hungarian
  • Great team player and sharing of best practice
  • Experience with Git or other distributed version control system
PREFERENCES
  • Experience with Objective-C, SWIFT
  • Mobile development experience
  • Experience with automated test environments like Selenium
  • Experience with bug tracking systems such as JIRA
  • Experience working in agile environment
