ABOUT ROLE
The Brand and Creative team at LMI is an innovative, fast-paced, client-service oriented group. The Copy Chief reports to the VP of Global Brand and Creative and works collaboratively with our team of writers, designers and creative project managers, marketing, and brand managers.
The Copy Chief provides strategic copy direction to the designers and writers within the Creative Team, ensuring continuity, consistency, and accuracy of materials produced. In this role, you’ll serve as copy lead on key projects and collaborate with the Associate Creative Director to communicate brand attributes, support strategic design goals, and execute creative strategies across multiple channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the strategic/creative positioning of brands, conceptualizing campaigns, writing, and editing marketing materials, including, but not limited to: ebooks, DSM (digital, social, mobile) content, educational materials, video scripts and speeches
  • Work collaboratively with ACD, designers, and copywriters to ensure consistent style
  • Assess and assign writing jobs
  • Lead voice-over projects from conceptualization to completion
  • Collaborate with designers, creative managers, usability team and other writers to develop concepts and complete projects according to schedule
  • Edit material written and provided by client departments to ensure coherence, brand voice, and appropriate approach for given audience
  • Establish innovative copy strategies for all marketing collateral
  • Work with creative managers and marketing LOBs to ensure design solutions are on strategy
  • Work with creative managers to schedule and manage workflow and forecast resource needs to meet critical delivery dates
  • Provide leadership through creation of new strategies, methods, and innovative approaches
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing leaders to ensure brand synergy across all communication channels
REQUIREMENTS
  • 8-10 years of writing, editing, or communications experience (agency or in-house agency environment preferred)
  • 2-4 years of staff management experience
  • Project/traffic management software familiarly
  • B.A. or equivalent in any of the following - English; professional writing; marketing communications/PR/advertising
  • Experience developing B2B and B2C marketing messages
  • Mac O/S experience a must
  • Strong copy editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to defend thinking and approach in pitch meetings
  • Establish innovative copy strategies for all marketing collateral
  • Must be comfortable with tight deadlines and getting the best out of team to accomplish projects
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills to interact with cross-functional teams while achieving consensus on objectives and results
  • Confident and knowledgeable on the subjects of design, copywriting, communications, and marketing best practices
  • Outstanding organizational skills and self-motivation; ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision and interpersonal
  • Effective people management: attracting, retaining, motivating, and supporting a diverse workforce
  • Familiarity with agency structure and environment
