The Test Automation Engineer is a software engineer and tester who designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs complex software applications and test automation projects, demonstrating for others how to resolve issues in innovative and practical ways. The role demonstrates expertise in a variety of test and QA practices, concepts and procedures, and test automation. The role takes initiative in planning and prioritization of design and development activities to resolve a wide range of issues; interacts with senior internal and external personnel; and may act as a technical lead on complex projects.

  • Utilizes knowledge of good software design and programming expertise to create maintainable and performant code for automated test projects and frameworks in conformance with development best practices
  • Designs, documents, develops and executes reusable and maintainable automated scripts and functional and system level testing to verify the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of software changes across various platforms
  • Responsible for planning, estimating, prioritizing, organizing and performing technical work and ensuring the integrity of projects
  • Analyzes testing results; identifies, isolates interprets, and reports defects; acquires complete set of relevant data so the problem can be accurately characterized and updates bug database
  • Conducts smaller development projects independently; performs specific portions of broader projects managed by supervisor; solicits input and expertise as necessary from higher level engineers to carry out assignments correctly
  • Actively pursues and encourages others to acquire information and training regarding trends and advancements within area of specialization, incorporating these improvements where applicable; attends technical conferences as appropriate and shares acquired knowledge and insights with others; may recommend and lead peer training activities
  • Tackles and solves challenging problems with high success rate
  • Works closely with other engineering team members and departments on technical matters
  • Exchanges information with other teams
  • Makes recommendations for improvement of applications to software engineers
  • Keeps abreast of technical trends, develops knowledge and skills and incorporates them within assignments as appropriate
  • Susceptibility to learn and improve yourself constantly
  • Experience with C#
  • Web development experience
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Unix shell, Javascript, Python, Ruby)
  • Knowledge and experience with OOAD principles and methodologies (e.g., UML) and OS concepts
  • Ability to reason about product quality while producing software requirements for features
  • Expertise implementing, unit testing, debugging and integrating complex code
  • Ability to contribute constructively to the review of recent project activity and working practices
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and in Hungarian
  • Experience with Git or other distributed version control system

  • Experience with automated test environments like Selenium
  • Experience with bug tracking systems such as JIRA
  • Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages (Java is preferred
  • Experience working in agile environment
  • Experience independently publishing papers, blogs, and creating and presenting briefings to technical audiences
  • Experience mentoring/leading an engineering team through a technical project
